The commune of Tenniken is an idyllic village nestled at the foot of the Diegter Valley in the half-canton of Basel-Country. It has 347 households and 924 inhabitants.

After the Tenniken communal council decided to set up a composite heating system and to use wood chips to ensure the supply of heat, BRUGG Rohrsystem AG was awarded the contract by the planning company carrying out the project.

The project used various lengths of CALPEX®-UNO DN 65 (30 metres) and DN 80 (500 metres) as well as CALPEX®-DUO DN 25 up to and including DN 50 (approx. 1,000 metres) and - with only a few exceptions - the entire village was connected up. The combination of Uno and Duo pipes requires the use of various special fittings at junctions. The products involved were PREMANT® double T-pieces - this was the first time we had manufactured them in this form, so they were used as a pilot.

The Tenniken composite heating system project was completed by our fitters in several stages.
