Assignment:

A steam pipe was built between the waste incinerator and the paper mill. For reasons of visual appearance, it was not possible to lay an intermediate section of 836m above ground. The overground pipe that was used was unsuitable for laying underground. A solution was sought. Requirements: Operating temperature of 220°C, DN 500, capacity 45 tonnes/hour

Solution:

A steel casing pipe was installed. Condensate feedback was handled by a FLEXWELL® DN 100, steel 1.4404. Sections of 12m were used for most of the 836m. Special parts were needed for changes of direction. The DN 100 flexible condensate pipe was laid in one section between the shafts.
